  • Hey, in an antenna thread, you said you had completely removed your antenna. Do you have a pic of the hole in the roof? Did you need to remove your headliner?
Hey I see that you are a fellow daytonian! We should get together and do some sonic stuff lol!
Thanks, guess I will just shoot a fast coat of white first to get it looking really yellow. Again your wheels look great, best color I have seen yet!!!!!!!!!!!! Showed a buddy of mine who just got a white Jetta after I dipped his emblems black and he loved the color and ordered it for me to help him next week do his wheels. LOL
Thanks I found the pic and just can't get over how green it looks, did you peel down to bare rim before you did the yellow or does it have a black/white or other color under for a base coat??
Hey quick question, can you send me a pic of how the yellow you had on your wheels looked preferably face on?? I ordered 2 cans of yellow and I am doing a Rasta theme on my wheels for this reggae fest I am going to and wanted to see how yellow it is. Thanks for your help!!!
Just did it! tested the continuity, found the right wires, spliced them, and they sounded great! The car even recognized the new spliced wire as an auxiliary "input". The only issue is, once I plugged in the faceplate, i.e. this guy:
The end of the aux cable. Where you plug it into something. Its silver or gold. You can see at least 3 sections seperated by a thin black line usually. The top 2 are left and right channel and the bottom closest to the rubber of the plug is ground.
I'm having trouble understanding the "tiers". and what is this bable of which you speak? I'm still new to all of this! Thanks much!
Okay, I think I gotcha! I'm running the coax for the CB tomorrow and will tackle this auxiliary auxiliary afterwords. Thanks for the input! I'll post the results ASAP, or ask 100 other stupid questions, whichever comes first...
Here are some more pictures of the project. Here is a picture of the aux wire post-stripping with three wires exposed, the red, the white, and what I'm guessing is the negative/ground wire:

Here is a picture of the back of the AUX/USB wiring bracket:

You can see the mini-USB port under the six connectors for the six wires to the back of the aux input.

the previous is the back of this:

    Thanks for taking a look!
I do have a multimeter but am amateur at best when it comes to using it. What would I be looking for? I'm assuming of the two wires coming out of the aux wire, one is left and one is right audio rather than positive/negative. What should I find when I test the six colored wires behind the stock auxiliary?
I did, it looks like there are two different harnesses, one for the USB and one for AUX. Did that pic go through? I'll try [/URL] The six wires I described are definitely solely for the AUX, which is why i believe them to be speakers. I don't think any of them go to the USB because, after taking apart each harness, the USB plugs into the end of a female mini-USB behind the upper-glovebox.
Hey 007, I've got one for ya. I'm trying to run a 3.5mm cord from the back of the stock auxiliary input (in the upper dash) to the back of a CB radio, turning the car speakers into speakers for the CB, blasting whatever is on the CB radio to the car speakers. I have a 3.5mm auxiliary cord that I cut, yielding a red wire and a white wire. I (foolishly) assumed that there would be two wires running into the back of the stock auxiliary input but pulled the wiring harness out to reveal six wires...

As you can see, the wire colors are yellow, blue, black, brown, green, and gray.
Based on a wiring thread you posted, I believe four of the wires to be positive wires coming from four speakers. Any idea what the other wires could be? I thought I would just be able to splice the auxiliary cord in with the wiring harness but was stumped when I found six wires. I appreciate any help!
Also I hope you don't mind me askin how much you cut off your springs? I have oem 15s on mine I believe and I wouldn't want to put the springs on and be unhappy with the clearence so I was wondering if you would have an amount you would recommend cutting off, I'm not relly into "propper" haha.
I see you have Kspeed lowering springs as I was looking at and mentioned in my thread. Did you have to do any other modifications so your wheels and tires fit?
i bought hids and one of the bulbs has black goo on it smoke come residue iif take pic show you tell me am ok to use or bring it back
I saw that you work for best buy as an auto tech. And helped out in another thread with the Sony system I am trying to install. Would it be too much trouble to ask for you to let me know which colored wire goes to each speaker so I can trace out my connections and make sure they are spliced to the correct color. I would greatly appreciate it. So far I have only wired in the dsp but have not run the power ground and turn on wore for the dsp. Only spliced into the speaker wires this far.
