I just got done installing MPFab's intercooler kit tonight. I am EXTREMELY pleased with the performance, the look, and the fit and finish!
it took about 4 hours to install it by myself. I did have just ONE little issue with fitment, but it was easily fixed with a pair of vice grips.
the new mounting locations on the crash bar had to be bent down about 3/16-1/4" to allow the intercooler to clear the crash bar without contact. not too big a deal to take care of.
now, as far as the performance, OMG TORQUE! it has so much more torque, especially in the lower rpms. it also pulls harder in the higher rpms and it helped with drivability too!
I was having issues with it holding boost before this mod, and I thought it was a boost leak. I did a test on the system before this and didn't find a leak, but I did notice oil around the passenger side intercooler connection, so that was a very small leak.
but what I think most of the issue was that my MAP sensor was covered in grime! I blew it off with the air compressor, but I need to clean it better with some kind of sensor cleaner. but I think that I FINALLY found my boost issue!
thanks again for everything Walker! your products always perform great, and this one even helped me find my running issue!
yet another top notch product from MPFab.
