Ok,don't laugh about this one. I was wondering if I could install a kill switch to my sonic to keep anyone from stealing/taking it for a spin whatever. and it not interfere with the computer system on board. I don't like onstar and its to expensive.
its built in to your ignition switch it has to see a learned key pass over it when turned in the ignition your key has a transponer that is learned to the vehical so unless they have your key the cant start your car.
So what your saying is with the key that is used it going to be hard to steal it and I do not need to rig up a swith that is hidden somewhere that I flip off and on to keep it from getting stolen.that what in the ol days some car owners would do.
I don't remember that a kill switch slowed anyone down in that one but it has been many a year since I watched it.
Back when SOF was in its infancy I wrote something like around where I live a manual transmission is considered to be the most effective anti-theft device and with this reply I reiterate that sentiment.
thats why you put full coverage on it. nothing there that cant be replaced. make sure that you insure it for what you think its worth. a little extra on the premium but well worth it when you need it
Profesional thieves use tow trucks and wheel lifts anyway. I mean.. when's the last time you questioned someone with a tow truck? I have 2 neat videos of both of my Integra's being wheeled out of the parking lot @ my old job in Miami to prove it
