Is there a lot of legroom/hip room in a chevy sonic? I am 270 lbs at 6'2" and I was wondering if I could fit comfortably. I am driving a 2011 chevy camaro right now and checking some options on somethings. I am looking to change to a more fuel efficient car. Any help is much appreciated.

I'm 6'2" and 180lbs and I fit just fine. It's actually one of the things that was a deciding factor in choosing the Sonic. Most of my height is in my torso, and even with a sunroof I'm comfortable. The other car I was considering, the Ford Focus, was way too cramped for me. Ducking to see stoplights isn't fun.
The only way to know for sure is to go sit in one for yourself.

Ford focus was very cramped for me also and I forgot to mention if the sunroof took away from head room. Thanks for all the information.

My son is 6'4 and 300 lbs and has no trouble fitting in any of the four seats (yeah, ok, middle rear seat isn't too comfy) and regular size humans can sit behind or in front of him. I think he actually fits better than I do, in fact.
The one caveat is that he has to jack the seat all the way down, while I (at 5'6") have to jack it all the way up. A bit of a pain swapping drivers. If you're in a similar two wildly different size driver situation, it might be worth looking into an electric seat option. But with the seat in the right position, it's very comfortable for either of us.

I'm 5'10" 265 and fit well in the seat in regards to my width. And I can lower the seat all the way down and have probably seven inches of headroom. And I can't reach the pedals with the seat all the way back. So I think you would find it quite comfortable.

The only problem I have had is my leg rubbing on the center console while driving. It never really bothers me unless my knee was already hurting that day.

What he/she said... only I'm 6'2".
#1 thing you have to do is go drive one. No sense in considering anything about the make/model if you are not comfortable sitting in / driving one.
I did the F Focus thing... yeah, no thanks. The driver should not have to fold oneself to fit in the drivers seat. Was really surprised at the space in the Sonic. I fit in it. So we test drove it. Handled well, road well, discussed options, sold.
