I could have worded that better instead of making a blanket statement and you are correct that a non flat bottom can benefit from a diffuser. The edge in aero performance though is going to the flat bottom car in my opinion.
Thanks for sharing the video! Very good watch. He makes some excellent points. I have done some of what he is saying in fact. I've removed the exhaust out of the airflow completely. All piping is routed above the bottom with the exhaust exit relocated above the diffuser on the side versus being routed down between the fins. I've also added large barge boards on the sides. There is nothing below the car but sheet metal and aero plate block offs.
Agreed aero is very fun but will admit I'm no expert! I'll shut up now...don't mean to detract from Aero's awesome build thread! With that said throw up some more pics of that bad boy!
