Need help with backup camera - AUX port issue

Okay so here's the situation: I ordered a backup camera off of Aliexpress that goes into one of the license plate lights. I also purchased an AUX to RCA cable off of Amazon to convert the camera's video signal to an AUX video signal but it was been to no avail. I've tried three different AUX/RCA cables and none of them have worked. It seems like the AUX port isn't picking up the video signal even though there is an "AUX Video" option in MyLink.

I am positive the camera works when I shift into reverse because I plugged the video cable from it into a TV and I got a picture. Does ANYONE know what cable will work? I thought I saw a post about this a while back but can't find it anywhere. I'm sure Amazon (and my postman) is getting tired of me returning a package every couple of days haha.

What year is your Sonic? The reason I ask is because I tried doing the same thing following a DIY thread and could not get good video on my MyLink either. I have a 2013.

The thread in the DIY where user cmgeiser did what you're describing worked great for him, he has a 2014 though so it might be a 2014 and newer kind of thing. I've put a link to the thread below but it looks like his pics have been moved.

What year is your Sonic?

I've got a 2013 as well. My last-ditch effort is going to try an AUX/RCA cable with male ends and use an RCA coupler to connect the camera's RCA video cable. Not sure if there's some sort of issue with female vs. male RCA connectors coming out of the AUX port that would cause input/output confusion. That's my last and only hope...

Yes! I got it to work using an AUX-to-RCA cable with male ends. I posted a full write-up here.
