So it’s finally gotten below freezing here for a bit, but doesn’t matter to me much since I work third shift. I go to work when it’s warmer.
This morning since I’m changing the oil in the daughter’s car, she took mine to School. Started it up and came running back in 5 minutes later when it started normal idle telling me it’s making a horrible sound.
I go out and hear a clacking, like the fan has come off its axle. It’s not mechanical like low oil or cold oil making valves clatter. This is more plastic on plastic. On the front of the engine. Started going away when she revved it, then started again after letting it idle. As the kids had to go, I told her to keep the revs up and after dropping one off and getting to school she said she didn’t hear it again. Of course I’m sure she had radio on so wasn’t paying too much attention.
This hasn’t been a problem so I don’t know if freezing weather is why or something more sinister. Any suggestions? All are welcome
