Is the airbox open on the bottom or just on top? What is the filter element made of, paper or oil-soaked gauze?
I got the information on the filter. It is a micron cellulose dry paper media.

That doesn't sound like the material I see in the filter. Could you post a link to the source of your information? Thanks.
Also, are you now using premium fuel as required with the stage kit exhaust?
Sorry I do not have a link to the information. I contacted someone who pulled the information for me along with the size and inlet diameter.
Yes, I use premium fuel. I used it before the kit also. If anything has a turbo, I just use premium on it.
Did you get a GM performance tune with BOTH the intake AND the exhaust? Or are they only offering a tune for the exhaust now? I know at one time they were offering a tune for the discontinued intake, but heard they did away with that. Looks VERY good though!!
I just got denied the work on my 2016 Sonic for the air intake
"Greg,
Our Service Manager contacted General Motors. They told him there was a change in the emissions system from 2015 to 2016. Putting the performance air intake on the vehicle could create problems that your emissions warranty does not cover. It is also conceivable that other warranted systems would be affected in ways that could cost you money. For that reason, we are going to decline doing the work.
I wish I had a different answer, but we are going to follow GM policies.
Tom"
The only thing it does not have is an additional filter to stay in the California clean air regulations. That is why they took the part off the list because it is not usable in all 50 states.
Looks good. How did they get the 151 engine hp, via a calculation based on wheel horsepower?
I posted this on the dyno forum also but here it is. 151hp with 123hp at the wheels.
