Porting the Intake Manifold

i think i'll check out the pricing on a manifold and i'll have the stocker to go back to when i'm done. or maybe a throttle too and get it ported as well?

You guys make it sound ultra challenging, I did mine at home in about an hour and a half, out/smoothed/in doneopcorn:
ps- I'm not an expert but this wasn't my first time porting something, the porting for me took 10-15 minutes

I ran mine without a tune for about 5000 miles, never noticed any drivability issues or changes to fuel economy.
An hour & half is pretty good, Its really not that bad if one has any mechanical inclanation. I spent more time cleaning than porting,
Ol Blue what did you use for porting?? I'm still playing around with what works well on plastic, and all I know is I've had the best luck with my set of carbide cutters for steel/aluminum

Glad to hear maybe tomorrow or friday I will do it and let you know how it turns out. I have an intake secondary cat delete and full 2.5 stainless all the way back. I really hate that stupid 6200 rpm stop. The car is not geared well for that. Does adding the trifecta tune help with that btw??

I used an aluminum specific porting bit to buzz down the majority, it's too aggressive on the plastic to take it all off. Then I finished it out with a sandpaper roll with light pressure so the plastic wouldn't melt.

Still scared about porting the intake with stock tune because the cruze forums say it will not run without a tune. I know how to do it properly I have done it before on other cars. I did however seem to notice that everyone who did this had already had a tune on there vehicle. Still worried thats a 300 dollar F up otherwise. Dont think the wifey would be happy trying to explain that one. Hey I really only need one other person to verify it will work on a stock tune and Im all for it. Ill even video a run afterwards.

Jpiero79 the tune will definetely help in the overrev department and I would strongly suggest getting one as soon as possible, its the single greatest performance mod out yet and will be required to maximize the mods you have and this one in particular
I noticed stock this car starts to fall off around 5500 rpm and then the computer intervenes around 6200 rpm. With just the intake porting the engine continues to pull until the computer steps in. I don't know how much the tune alone will help on its on in that regards as I got it later but Eric and others have said it helps a lot. You will still have that 6200 rpm ecm intervention. I imagine trifecta leaves it in there as safety countermeasure
