Removing antenna for car wash?

Ok, I hadn't thought of this because I never removed my old car's antenna, but after seeing the thread with the poor person whose antenna broke, I have to ask -- Should I be attempting to remove my sonic hatch's antenna before taking it through an automated soft-cloth carwash?

When I took y car to the dealer, they broke it off while washing the car. But no I would say removing it would be pointless

My sales guy told me to take it off when washing it.

if you can't unscrew your antenna, you should consult your sales department to get a trade in quote.

Easiest solution to this problem is washing your car your damn self.
Other than that, get a shark fin. I love mine.

My car is black so the only car wash it will ever see other than hand washing is a lazer wash.

Hand washing isn't reasonable in an apartment complex. I suppose I could take it to one of those drive-in self-washes.
