An analysis from another forum indicates an addition or a strengthening of cleaning agents in the fuel and ends with the opinion that if one uses off brand non-top tier fuel using this may be more beneficial than using Techron every several months, and suggests no need to change top tier brand to this.
The fuel I use, Citgo, used to be top tier then they changed their formulation to add more cleaning detergent and have not been top tier since, per my memory.
I do not recall that Sunoco and Marathon, my alternate fuels when Citgo is not available were ever top tier. I think Pilot was at one time but I do not think it is now.
