Earlier this year our car was parked in front of our house, someone backed into the drivers door and the damage was enough to have to replace the door. Luckily I was left a note with name/number on my windshield, and we filed an insurance claim.
Then, in less than a week, someone backed out of an adjacent space in a parking lot, and sideswiped the front & rear passenger doors.
So, at the same time, and almost 2 weeks, both sides of the car were fixed, repainted. Over 3K worth of damage. Not to mention adding to the list of carfax reports on this car.
On Friday, we were hit with some strong thunderstorms which took out a lot of mainroad stop lights, and as a result of stopping at the intersection (because it's the law!!!) my husband was rear-ended (by a pretty nice Lexus hybrid)
No airbags deployed, both kids in the car (14yo in the front passenger, my 10yo in the back seat) and everyone is fine. My husband called it a fender-bender, but I think it's gonna be way more damage :/. The hatch is dented, and because the bumper was crumpled we can't open it. I'm pretty sure this car has no value left in it, with all its mechanical issues reported, and now 3 accidents, and NONE OF IT WAS OUR FAULT. ugh. Can't we just have something stay nice for once???
I really feel this car is a magnet for bad luck. Just kinda really bummed right now.
