This tcm is going to be the death of my transmission. Down shifting while braking and it pops to a complete stop (from 2nd to 1st) then just starts rolling. Almost like I put it in park at 7 mph then just kicked it to neutral then dumped it to first. Chevy says there's nothing wrong with it.

Sadly, Chevy claims normal operation for those trans is as extreme as you've mentioned and worse.

You'll get to the end of 7-10 business days of arguing over it for them to tell you that you shouldn't have bought an economy car if you wanted a smooth transmission

My first question may sound like a stupid one since you said you are downshifting while braking but, your sonic is a manual transmission correct? My second question would be if your downshifting while braking are you heel toe rev matching when you downshift? I only ask because i heel toe as part of normal driving because it makes a smoother drive and it keeps me in the habit for when i decide to drive more vigorously on mountain roads. I have not encountered your problem while downshifting using this technique.
