Was offered a set of Nokya H11 80w bulbs, install or not?

What are the odds it will cause me trouble? I've had these on previous cars but every car is different, my trailblazer both sides melted with 75w bulbs but on all my civics never an issue. As anyone put higher wattage bulbs?

eh... i wouldn't, low odds or not. not a risk i'd be willing to take on a new car.

What ever Happened with the Higher Wattage Bulbs???

After seeing this post I'm beginning to wonder if I didn't make a really bad decision as just last night I bought a set of H8 100W x2 pcs High/ Fog Light Xenon HID Hyper White Universal Bulbs for the fog lights. Got a great deal too, lol. So I guess I better find other bulbs, right??? Any input would really be appreciated. :sadbanana:

I just did the the h9 to h11 bulb conversion. The h9 is a 65 watt bulb as opposed to the 55 watt h11. I ran them for a few hours with the car both on and off. The headlight housing was hot but the wiring seemed fine. I ended up taking them out due to them only being marginally brighter than a silver star ultra in h11. @ 65 watts the h9s were a little bit warmer than i was comfortable with. Ive never used an 80 watt but i would be wary.
