I look forward to the pics so that I'll know where to inspect for this gap. It sounds like a manufacturing flaw at the GM plant.
Is the dealership charging you for this manufacturing flaw?
considering it's a new car I was not charged they did explain it to me and point it out to let me relay the message to you guys this is not something they have personally seen before so it could have been a fluke on my car alone BUT he said they may end up seeing this issue again in the newer models there is not a service bulletin (yet) for it
I'm sorry I didn't get pics of the actual flaw of when it was taken apart. These strips running down the sides of the car. Under it there is a seam that should be sealed together but at the end of the strip where it is clipped (and epoxied in) there was a gap where it should have been sealed. He found the leak by pouring constant water everywhere until it started coming out and traced it back.
