This has gotten ridiculous. My daily driver has now spent a week on the lift, and there is still a good bit left to do. The simple top mount set up is now a "way over the top" mount set up.
This mounting arrangement was supposed to facilitate integration with the intake (it does ), and the Anaconda ( it doesn't ). It looks like no matter what I do, a stock or performance down pipe will not work with the turbo kit. I will have to either re-engineer the Anaconda to have another flanged joint, or build a turbo kit specific down pipe.
The turbo is most likely too big. I knew this before purchasing, and at one point talked myself out of it, but alas, here it is. It clears the hood by .83" on the compressor side and around 2" on the turbine side. Hopefully it doesn't set the hood on fire. Because the EFR is longer by over 4", I'm having to wrap everything in 2000° heat sleeve to protect it from the down pipe.
I'm waiting on a couple more items I still need to complete it, and there are still parts that need fabbin' but I'm hoping it's running by Tues. I'm also hoping this turbo surprises me down low, but if it doesn't, at least it looks bitchin'!!
