Hi all, I have a similar problem to many of you, no heat at idle, no heat at low speeds...etc. It's hard to take my kids somewhere when I know it won't get heated up and it's 3 degrees outside. I end up taking our backup vehicle instead...which sucks. You know what else sucks? Spending 30 minutes in your car in a traffic jam with no heat when it's 10 below without windchill. I'm really thankful for heated seats at least.
I took it to the dealer, they said it had an air bubble in the line and was half a pint low in coolant...then they ran it and the air was hot. They also gave me a tech bulletin that warns dealers that certain cars with these super efficient aluminum engines just don't heat up much...but I had not problem last year when it hit 15 below.
The very next day I had heat, but the day after I was back at the same state as before. SOMETIMES I get heat, but I think it has more to do with me trying to rev the engine more to get it up to temp.
What have some of you told to the dealers to get them to look deeper? "I hear there's a water pump issue that causes this"? I hate the inconvenience of taking it to the dealer, plus they'll get it to blow hot air when they have it.
Any advice would be great!
Thanks
