My clutch pedal has been making a weird clicking sound every time I push the clutch in, it happens at the very top of the clutch like its something with the spring. Anyone else have this issue? I am usually not a very picky person with minor stuff but this click has been driving me nuts when driving in stop and go traffic.

Oh yeah I have the same issue which is hella annoying haha!! I was gonna ask my stealership sometime soon!!!

Quite possibly it's the clutch switch for deactivating the cruise.

Did the dealership fix it? what did they do? I took mine in for the oil change and of course it decides not to click :blankface: so i decided meh oh well they're not gonna do anything since it stopped, but now its clicking again

I took my 1.8 in yesterday because of the clutch clicking and I left feeling like an idiot for deciding to by a GM product. The service tech told me that he has never heard of this before and this could be just what happens after the car breaks in. I told him that I do know things about cars also and I have never heard of a new car that breaks in and now has an annoying clicking clutch. At first they said they couldn't actually hear the clutch clicking, just the noise of it coming back up. I felt like they didn't really care that I was having issues and felt like more of a bother than anything.
I was very upset while I was there because it seemed like everyone was just not concerned that I just bought a brand new car from them 4 months ago and was basically told this was something that I was going to have to live with. I told them that this is not something that I will live with and I will get rid of the car first and make sure I voice my opinion to everyone I can about the level of concern GM has after you buy their product.
I was finally reassured by the service tech that he will call Daewoo to find out if there is an issue. Great, try to buy an American product to support our local economy and find out that I am dealing with a fully designed Korean car from a company that could not cut it in our country. Can't wait to see what other issues will soon arise in this car.

Don't know why he would call Daewoo as the trans is made in Austria. It is true much of the Sonic's engineering was done in Korea (some of the American engineers temporarily moved there, for up to three years, to work on the design and engineering) but the people who would be answer the service tech's questions work in several building located about two miles north of where I live.
I would go to another Chevy dealer; just because you bought it there does not mean you have to return for warranty or any other service work.
You should get a questionnaire from Chevy regarding your visit for service. I am certain you will take the few minutes needed to complete it.

Hi everyone! First, let me say that I love my 2012 Sonic LS w/1LS. As for the clicking clutch, I got under there and realized that the clicking occurs when I move the pedal by hand, from side-to-side. A lot of 'play' while doing so. I've had many manual cars. I do not feel that the problem is associated with simply depressing the clutch. Plus, there seems to be two overlapping plastic parts behind the rubber foot pad. Any further thoughts or info will be much appreciated. I hesitate going to the dealer until I find out what the heck is going on. I have 400 miles on it. Thanks!

That was my experience as well with the side to side movement and after spraying the fulcrum points with Wd40 I haven't noticed it since.

What are fulcrum points? Plus, do you think side-to-side play of perhaps 1/8 to 1/4 inch is normal? Thank you!

That's how much mine moves too. Fulcrum points are the hinges of the assembly - where the pedal assembly connects to the underside of the dash.
