This release post is a presentation of the software engineering capabilities of TRIFECTA Performance: TRIFECTA presents a complete powertrain power delivery profile recalibration for the MY2012-MY2015+ Chevrolet Sonic 1.4T engine and corresponding 6T40 automatic transmission reprogramming. The TRIFECTA Performance Chevrolet Sonic 1.4T MY2012-MY2015+ powertrain calibration is an easy to install software performance recalibration with an included flash loader device that will yield gains of +52 ft-lbs and +36 WHP (Peak gains of +49 ft-lbs and +31 WHP) to a completely stock Chevrolet Sonic 1.4T MY2013.




Specifications of the TRIFECTA Performance Chevrolet Sonic MY2012-MY2015+ 1.4T ECM software reprogramming:

-Gains of +52 ft-lbs and +36 WHP under the curve (and +49 ft-lbs and +31 WHP peak on 91 octane)
-Powertrain calibration has been tested and validated for various environments, such as cold/heat, elevation, and variations in fuel quality
-Power feels linear and immediately responsive
-Retains all GM OE diagnostics and ECM functionality
-Retains all OE error code reporting and functionality
-Emissions readiness checks are present; emissions compliant
-Maintains functionality of ABS and TC systems
-Knock detection mechanisms and OE engine knock detection sensitivity is retained
-Return to stock functionality included with flash loader


Specifications of the TRIFECTA Performance MY2012-MY2015+ Chevrolet Sonic 1.4T 6T40 6-Speed automatic transmission TCM calibration software reprogramming:

-Supplementary 6T40 transmission TCM reprogramming compliments the ECM reprogramming and completes the TRIFECTA Powertrain Calibration: designed to work in unison with the ECM reprogramming for optimized performance
-Improved shift times in adverse shift patterns
-Improved shift logic
-Does not shorten transmission life or increase cooling requirements
-Retains all OE diagnostics and TCM functionality
-Retains all OE error code reporting and functionality
-Improved fuel economy with improvements made to torque converter slip profiles

-Estimated installation time of ~20 minutes
-Premium fuel is recommended, but not required

I recently had an updated tune installed on my vehicle trying to work with the bov/popcorn issue and was told at the time that it included all updates to that time period and it was only two weeks ago. Were these updates in my new tune?

It feels different and I prefer it if it is this new stuff

That could be because their support is for Cadillac vehicles; I say this because every visit I have made to their site since this section open features Cadillacs. As far as I know, Cadillacs, though assembled and sold by General Motors, are not Chevrolets, which also are assembled and sold by General Motors.

I suppose once a Chevrolet Sonic tune is ready for prime time, the company will add the Sonic to their list of supported vehicles.

Any perception of sarcasm is correct because sarcasm is intended.

So. I've been letting my brain wander a bit and keep asking myself if the name of the new tune has anything to do with the tune itself. "my***" as in my link... As in maybe we will have gauges on my link with the trifecta tu e. Just letting my brain wander

It's just a normal update and progression of performance that one would expect from a company continuing to upgrade their products.

If anyone is following the Facebook forums, seems like there will be three calibration tunes in the new Trifecta update. These are the words from Vince:

"...all three TRIFECTA calibration offerings include the cable as part of the purchase. The Advantage (for stock cars only) is $298, the Advantage+ is $388 (includes one diagnostic datalog) and the Elite is $588 (similar to what was previously the TRIFECTA full tune, with elevated level of support).

In all three cases, the calibration (tune) itself is the same, the different price points describe a different level of service and features (e.g. Advantage is for bone stock cars only).

All existing TRIFECTA customers are eligible for an upgrade to the new calibration (of which is being beta tested right now - we expect to be ready to release it to everybody by end of week). Existing TRIFECTA customers will enjoy the same level of service they had previously."
