Ive been wanting to go brighter headlights without going hid. What's the brightest i can go?

I'm running PIAA Night Tech low beams. They're the brightest low beams I've ever had and they're a nice unobtrusive white light. Headlight science gets complicated...there's color temperature and brightness, two often misunderstood things.

Silver star ultras are bright but they don't last very long, I think I got 10 months longest out of a set.

One thing I can appreciate is how easy it is to change out the headlight bulbs in my new Sonic. My previous ride (Ram 1500), you had to remove the grill to gain access to the headlight assembly and had to completely pull out the headlight just to change the bulbs!

I installed a set of H11 Sylvania Silverstars and the light output is slightly whiter (not bluish) than the stock H11's. $24 a pair at Amazon.com. I didn't want to go with anything higher than stock wattage as the wiring harness looks like it is designed just to handle the stock wattage. I would be concerned about melting the harness with anything using any more power.

Those are very similar to the extreme white PIAAs. Only difference I see is those are 4250k and the extreme whites are 4000k, and don't have Japanese packaging.

I'm running Phillips crystal visions high an low beam with PIAA YELLOW ION fogs and I am very happy with the light output an have heard the bulbs last as long as factory bulbs. Cost is $114 with shipping for the whole set up on Amazon.

Look up H11->H9 conversion. I'm using regular Phillips H9 bulbs.

The best advice I can give for finding the brightest bulbs is don't get anything that has any amount of tinting on the bulb.

You want these. They have the highest actual lumen rating (more useable light on the road).

I can tell you I have had a few people flash me when I only had my low beams on. I adjusted my headlights down a tad. I think they're brighter. Not sure if pictures will show the difference but I'm happy to know that I have the most lumens possible.

Can you find a straight unlit road and take parked night pics? Try to use the best camera possible, and I'll do the same with my stock bulbs and we can compare.

I'm waiting until I get my new Sonic to buy any more stuff.

Aren't the stock low beams 55w? The H9's are 65w. I wouldn't want to increase wattage on the stock wiring.
