I wish I could take my sonic on are you faster than a redneck.
That would be embarrassing for the sonic and its driver.
How do you know its ignition? Are you guessing? Sounds like a carb problem to me...
The rednecks were racing her with their pickup trucks. Their better cars would have had 1/2 a lap on her.Would still be fun to drive on the track. I wouldnt say embarrassing though, one chick almost won it all with a stock mini cooper.

Got it fixed! Was not a carb problem, I had actually just put a stage 1 kit in it an it was still doing it. I has checked all the ENDS of the wires for a loose connection but After much debate I went back through and found a wire that was pinched in the middle and was loosing contact. Replaced the wire and running like a champ!
Personally, I would rebuild the pair if I was having trouble with one.
If I was to guess, I would say it's nothing more than old gas that has gelled up somewhere. With these motorcycle and atv engines that only see seasonal use, you tend to see lots of carb problems associated with letting gas sit in them for extended periods. I'm not sure that the ethanol in pump gas is particularly good for them either, but I don't have anything to back it up.
A thorough cleaning with a complete tear down, an overnight soak in a can of carb cleaner, and some compressed air through all the passages should do it. It's just that with my thinking, if you're going to work on one carb in a tandem set-up, you might as well do the pair. And if you're going to tear them down, you should put fresh parts in there while you're at it.
When you change jets in multiple carbs you should change them as a pair then fine tune it per cylinder using the mixture screw( that's how I do it at least).... Why you have two different is beyond me.
