Wonder how that compares to the two months I spent working at a waste water treatment plant. The 2-5" of "mud" on the floor was just the squeezings that leaked out of the presses, and the "filtrate" that dripped from the presses made nice peecicles.
Chocolate cake is still not looked at the same and its been over three years since I worked in the poo plant.

Haha, I was there for an upgrade project. Thankfully it was winter time and the stench was tolerable. Usually it was 1-2* warmer inside than outside, just no wind. never knew that part of being an electrician would involve using a hose ans squeegee to push poo down a drain.
They would mix the "sludge" with lime and then run it through the press. From there the "cake" would drop to a conveyor and go outside. They used to incinerate it and there was a lot of dust all over everything. The conveyor they used to take it outside was to small and occasionally it would overload and stop. Then they would have to shovel it off the conveyor. On that job I learned what poo dust smelt and tasted like, what its like to squeegee and shovel ****, and how to work around liquid poo and frozen pee.
Honestly, I kinda liked the job.

Only? You've got my respect. We all have to do the gross things for sure. It's when you can sit at the lunch table and discuss it and still eat that you win..
I remember touring a waste plant in 5th grade. Interesting.

I can imagine. We made sure to stay clear when they were cutting out old process piping. Only had a few close calls with poo.

Something tells me its different working in it then it is looking at it and cleaning it at the source.
Not to mention sticking things in peoples............. and crap, I donno. I can't be a nurse or a dr.

I agree. It has to be a completely different view of things. I have done my fair share of "crime scene clean up" at work though. Its amazing how quickly a mess can be cleaned up before a safety guy makes a huge deal about about a small incident.

On my first carpentry job the day before I started they apparently assumed a sewer pipe was abanoned and went to knock it out in an occupied office space.
Well, next to an occupied office space.
Not only was it NOT abandoned but it wasn't flowing good so it was filled up one or two floors above where they smashed the pipe.
Needless to say I was told how lucky I was to not have been there that day. :banana:
