Winter tires, why spend more than I have to on wheels?? I picked these up last year when finding cheap wheels for these cars was not likely to happen.

Now used 15" stock wheels can be had for about what I paid for my new steelies, but last year it was hard to touch a set of stock wheels for $200.

If I could have gotten away with 14" wheels I would have used adapters and the Calais W40 wheels I have. Last year I threw them on my parents sunfire since they wont clear my front brakes even with adapters.

I love the steel wheel look for winter. I would do it if I weren't going to have a perfectly good set of stock RS wheels lying around for next year. Or maybe I'll sell those and go with the steelies.. Looks good, that black on silver. The pure utilitarian look.

You can get 205/50/17 winter tires.

I do not like swapping tires on wheels so I have my LTZ summer set up, stock 15" wheels/tires for times where I dont need winter tires and its not quite summer tire season, and the steelies and winter tires. When I wear out the stock tires they will be replaced by some LRR tires. I prefer to run the 15s for long highway trips for economy reasons.

I'm hoping for a new wheel setup this spring or summer, so I'll be debating which one I want to do, pick up steelies which will probably allow thicker winter tires, or put the winters on my stock RS wheels and have a little mor stylish set for winter. I'm looking at being in a mountain town in the next few years.

I prefer a narrower winter tire, so a 195/65/15 works fine for me. If I really wanted I could probably go with a 185, but 195 width tires have worked fine for me over the past few winters. I do not know how big of an effect sidewall aspect ratio will have on performance in crappy weather though.

OMG that's adorable! Mine prefer solar heat or natural body heat.. They are either in the big sun square on the stone in the kitchen, or piled on my lap.

That's cause yours haven't felt steam heat.

I'm sure if I had one, they'd be glued to it. My mom has two standard rat terriers (mine are Teddy Roosevelts) and a floor furnace. When her two had pups, we visited in the winter with my two, there were 9 ratties piling up on the grate.

Confused is more accurate. She surprisingly doesn't mind playing dress-up. But she is sensitive and did not appreciate how hard we were laughing at her. We were full on ROFL.
