Make sure the brackets are nice and tight against the bar. I had the same problem, and the solution was to loosen the bolts slightly, tap the brackets in, and re-tighten the bolts, tapping the brackets every time I turned the bolts. The creaking apparently comes from these brackets vibrating as the torsion beam twists. Getting them snug against the bar eliminates the vibration.

Yes it is, we use a silver sharpie here when doing the installs, works great!

Installed mine yesterday, and I second that "WOW"! What an amazing difference! I'm running Eibachs, SS front links, 225-50-15s and the brace, and the Sonic is easily as much fun as several 1st and 2nd-gen Street Prepared GTIs and GLIs I've built. Stiffened, short wheelbase makes for serious entertainment on a few local on and off-ramps. A bit of left foot braking and throttle modulation, and this car quickly rotates and can be kept tail out through most of a corner- Way too FUN!

Initially I was floored from just driving around a few corners and around town. Today on my drive to work I really got the chance to charge pretty hard with it. I have pushed a certain cloverleaf around the 54mph mark with my 17's and 235's but never on stock tires. Today I peaked at 56 with very little push. Mind you I am on stock 15's and tall tires. The car is crazy tight now. Supper impressed with such a small mod. I am finally finished with all suspension related items except adjustable sway bar links up front. But this is a sure fire win for $100!

Well my previous post was only after a 10 minute ride on Friday night.
After buzzing around town yesterday and a chance to take a couple on/off ramps there is a nice difference in the handling. I couldn't agree more with prior posts that this is an upgrade well worth the money.

90 ft/lbs will work, 65 ft/lbs is all that is needed on the M12 bolt though.

225 50 15s? How do you like those? Stock wheels?

I loved the 225s (stock wheels) in the dry, but in the wet they were too much tire for too little weight. Hydroplaned way too easily. This is my NEOhio DD, so I stepped down to 205-55-15s. Lost a bit of ultimate grip but gained back a bit of wet/ snow weather predictability.
