Yeah, this rain for us was highly, highly out of the norm. We were into the 100's before this weather front rolled through and we'll be into the 100's well into early September.

I've learned to deal with the heat, for the most part. It's a small sacrifice to make in order to have great fall, winter, and spring.

It was a great weekend. We didnt use the bikes anywhere near as much as planned. There was some misinformation provided ahead of time.

Took a long weekend and we camped in Mackinaw City with my sister, brother in-law, and two nephews. On Friday we went to tour the Soo locks and I wanted to try and see my parents old property on Sugar Island. On Saturday we went to see some bear ranch (more misinformation) that was near Tahquamenon (sp) Falls. The falls were neat. The grate surface on the Mackinac Bridge is not the most fun to drive on. It was worse than Firestone Winterforce tires on grooved pavement.

At some time I would like to just camp in the U.P. for a week and stop at some of the state parks up there. I still want to get to Pictured Rocks at some point.

Over the 1000 mile trip I managed to get pulled over by a state cop. Thats hard to do when you go 60 on the highway (70 mph zone). Apparently my exhaust is a bit loud. No ticket though. That was my first time to get pulled over in the Sonic and since I have had the CPL. I am now 4 for 4 with Mi. state cops. I have had fairly good experiences with them and cant complain at all.

Averaged 42.58 MPG for the trip as well. Not too bad when you take into account the payload inside and bikes on the rack for about half the trip, around town and idle time, and the hills on the trip.

Getting ready for my trip to Chicago on the 7th of August. I can legally carry in every state along the way, except IL. I'm glad I moved out of that corrupt hell-hole.

Had a old-time friend stay at the house with her newly-adopted 7 year old Yorkie.

I have never been so annoyed with a dog. Bark, bark, bark bark, all the time. Non-stop. Bark to get attention, to play, to get food, to just bark. Annoying as hell - would not leave my dog alone and for 24 hours he tried to lick his mouth. All. The. Time. It got so bad that my dog started to literally run to get away and then it turned into growling, which did nothing to stop it.

Then, I found out that the dog had been getting flea treatments. I wasn't happy about that at all, as I found a flea on him myself.

After a few phone calls to all local feed stores, I finally found a bag of food grade diatomaceous earth. If you don't know how awesome DE is for killing crawling bugs - check it out. Completely natural and non-toxic. It kills the bugs physically rather than chemically.

I ended up dusting the place and the dog yesterday to eliminate all chances of any fleas spreading, which they definitely won't now.


Overall, a somewhat annoying weekend, even though I did get a chance to hike on Saturday before my friend got here and then on Sunday, because I needed to get away from the constant barking.

I have a new level of respect and appreciation for my dog, because his level of training, better demeanor and intelligence is far beyond that dog.

Somber moment today. A friend's brother passed away during college football practice. Collapsed on the field and the true cause is not currently known. Sudden asymptomatic death in athletes under 35 years of age is a very real threat, and it's hard to screen for. Usually, it's due to an congenial heart condition, which often has no prior symptoms.

As an active, athletic person who's been experiencing heart pulpitations for years (tested and medically cleared w/o known cause), this hits close to home for me on a number of levels.

Wrapped the hood of the Honda yesterday. Came out ok. 5-6 out of 10. It's 5 foot pretty. It was my first attempt at wrapping. Next one will be way better.

Check into the hotel at 4 this afternoon and let the fun begin, but I'm stuck at work till 3 :blankface:

Lots of good friends coming into town through the next few days including my brother who just got back from Afghanistan recently so I am sure this will be a falling down mess of a weekend. My best man also chartered a 46' Sportfish to take us out deep sea fishing tomorrow so hopefully we will have some nice fights and some good pics to put up.

Anyone have any must do ideas for us this weekend??

I am sure that one will end up on the agenda at some point, hell even my fiance said that if they didn't take me to a strip club she would be disappointed in them. LOL

Knowing the group I am with though I foresee strippers in Hotel instead of going out to an actual club.

Any other ideas are welcome even if it is a good drinking game to play for a pregame buzz.
