MPFab DRSs(drivetrain roll suppressor) are ready to ship. MAJOR reduction of drivetrain "slop" when combined with stock engine/trans mounts. This gives a much more "connected" feel without annoying vibration. Can be used with aftermarket mounts too because racecar.

I had an auto 1.4L on the rack yesterday afternoon, and the DRS would need to be completely redesigned to work with that transmission. This means development for the auto is on hold indefinitely. I apologize to my customers who have the auto, and have expressed interest in the DRS. I will update this thread if anything changes.

Unfortunately I have prior obligations for tonight, but I hope to at least get a mock up done tomorrow to test fitment on the 1.8.

Due to the current weather I managed to attempt to bolt the nice fancy machined aluminium bit to the trans. Tomorrow should be warmer.

I have to get the car in the air and drop the belly pan to see for sure what is going on, but one of the holes may need to be elongated a little. Its really close, but off just enough to not allow it to bolt up properly. Hopefully tomorrow I can get a much better idea for you guys. It appears as though it will sit flat on the bell housing once the hole is elongated. Once that is sorted out I will see how the steel bracket sits.


To make things clear to everyone, I have a F17 trans so I am expecting the possibility of some issues with proper fitment.

So, I had the same issue. The holes are too far apart. Spent 5 minutes with my Dremel grinder bit, and it went on pretty easily. It's really not off by much, and aluminum is very soft and easy to grind/file.

Aside from the above mentioned hole issue, I'm pretty happy with the mount. Vibes below 1300 rpm, but I have the TTR tranny mount installed as well.

The result with both mounts is the same as with both TTR mounts (excellent, but vibrate-your-face-off), but the vibrations are bass-like below 1300rpm and racecar above 4k rpm. The high rpm interior sound is a lot like the BRZ/FR-S, actually. Sporty.

The TTR mount already removes a ton of movement, and as such, I had a hard time pulling the transmission forward to mount the aluminum piece to the steel piece. After bolting in the steel piece to the subframe, I used a screwdriver and my 9" ratchet extension as levers, inserted through the steel mount into the sleeve of the bushing in the aluminum piece. Pulled it forward, put the bolt in one side as far as I could, then wrenched on the bolt a bit to let it's threads pull it through.

I'm not sure what effect this pretensioning between the transmission mounts has on the vibrations and engine control. Intuitively, I want to say it reduces the movement further, in effect increasing the stiffness of both mounts and increasing vibrations.

I intend to remove the TTR mount next week to compare performance between each mount. After fighting with it and drilling the holes and everything, I don't want to mess with it for a bit.

In summary, DRS + TTRTM = racecar.

Thanks for the summary! I got curious and jammed a piece of hard rubber in the gap in the stock rear mount to stiffen it up, but I'm not experiencing what your talking about. It must still be a good but softer than the aftermarket mount you have.

I'm wondering if it's a "tolerance" issue relating to the threaded holes in the trans. The billet piece goes on my trans without any grinding. I had to get it in just the right spot to start the bolts, but I can thread them by hand. Much easier with a ratchet though.

Sorry for the delay. I have little time after work before I loose the light to work. The weather has not been cooperating either. Hopefully its not too bad after work tomorrow and I can finally get a change to get under the car. Once again, sorry for the delay.

After driving with the DRS and TTR lower mount over the weekend, I'm liking it more and more.

The vibrations are getting much better. I assume it's the bushing breaking in, as well as slightly warmer weather than the 30f mornings/nights of last week.

Wheel hop is gone unless I rev way higher than I should and then keep the wheels spinning. I think the lower control arm bushings are all that's remaining of that issue now.

You've got one year to come up with it. lol

I don't have the car just yet but when I get it in a couple of months I'm going to wait a year or so for performance upgrades and both your IC/Piping and DRS are on the list if they are available at that time.

If it took you one second per shift, you would need to drive for 3 years doing nothing but shifting to shift that many times.
I know what you meant but somebody out there might be curious /Ididthemath
