Recess in bumper? I thought it was a flat surface the sonic badge sticks on? At lest it dose from all the photos I've seem.
Nope! There's a reason quite a few of us were asking you where to order Barina bumpers. Your car has the emblem attached to the grille, and the painted bar across the front is one solid piece. That part is much easier to de-badge by simply replacing the grille.
Our bumper has the emblem attached solidly in the center of the painted bar, with holes drilled into it, and a recess shaped like a chevy bowtie. De-badging our bumper is near impossible, as the recess left behind looks super tacky.
So a lot of us have been very excited to find out that there is a Barina bumper that can have the badge removed with ease, with no trace left behind. The problem is, finding out how to get our hands on one.
The other problem you are going to encounter, is the recess in our front bumper also has the top portion of the chevy emblem protruding into the grille. So our grill has an indent in the bottom portion. A standard Barina grille lacks this indent, and will not fit without being cut.
Easy solution: Find someone here in the states that desperately wants a Barina bumper, and propose a swap. Remove the fogs and drls, and do a trade. The only step after that is getting the bumper re-painted to match your car, which also might be a bit expensive if you want a quality job.
You shouldn't have a problem finding parties who are interested. The only trouble is that you might have to eat the cost of shipping. Oh, and if you have a minor accident that messes up your new chevy bumper or grille, it will be dang hard to get a replacement.
