Rear Floor Air Outlet Ducts: Where??

I know how these kind of things go, in for a penny...

Do you notice less airflow up front now that some is coming out the rear? How does the airflow feel coming out of the rear ducts? Was the carpet fine other than cutting the opening for the rear ducts?

Yes, but it's not too bad. There is definitely a lot of air coming through those rear ducts. And I've found that the rear side windows don't fog up as much in the morning either.

The carpet is actually molded to accept the ducts. I don't know why GM didn't have these ducts available for the U.S. models Weird!

The carpet was already molded for the ducts, but the carpet at the duct exit had to be cut open. I really think GM should have this for all Sonics and not just the Canadian models! When you consider the convenance to the rear passengers, it just seems to be a no-brainer!

I have never really paid attention but my has those plastic vents in the floor of the back seat. I do not know if they function but I know that they are there because I vacuum my Sonic pretty regularly. I should check to see if they work. Do they only work if you switch the vent position to the lower (feet) setting?

That, the Defrost/Floor and BiLevel setting.

If you have this feature, do you know by chance if your Sonic was purchased in Canada? My understanding is the C35 RPO code was only offered in Canada and that the U.S. version didn't have it.

I'm going to write a letter to GM/Chevrolet asking them to please offer this feature for the U.S. version of the Sonic, or at the very least make it an available option.

I purchased mine in California off the Lot. It is a 2013 that I purchased in 2014 and I am the only owner. Bought it with 5 (20 after the test drive) miles on it... I am not sure why it sat for a year at the dealer though.

Somebody must have had the same idea but didn't realize those ports are blocked at the lower heater core case and have to be replaced with the Canadian version in order for them to work!
