What harbor freight ? Mig welding is very easy to pick-up . What are you looking to weld ? Welders can get pretty expensive .

Never buy any tools you intend to use more than once from Harbor Freight. They suck. I recommend scouting craigslist for a lincoln 110v Mig for beginners. I've had one since I was a kid. They're bulletproof and can handle most automotive projects from 1/16th" sheetmetal to 1/4" steel.

Just round up some scrap metal and have at it. You'll also want to pick up a hood, a grinder and a table vice if you don't already have them.

Do they carry Lincoln electric welders ? i have a 180 c power mig welder model k-2473 , it been great and you can run flux core wire or hook up your shielding gas and run regular wire for a much better weld . i have many welders at home but this is by far the most user friendly and it good for small projects . i welded a few exhaust systems with it and it did great . the picture i attached is my pride and joy it a multi process unit i can do mig , stick and tig

I worked as a production mig welder for 9 of my 30 years at Case IH, (an ag. equipment manufacturer) Mig welding is the easiest welding process to learn, and is the most used process in manufacturing do to the speed a weld can be applied. Depending on the wire and shield gas used, steel or aluminum can be sucessfully welded. One requirement for mig welding is that the material to be welded should be clean; no rust, oxidation, or paint.
You also will find that welding thin stock such as sheet metal or exhaust tubing is best done with solid wire with a shield gas. Flux core wire is best used for deeper penetration in thicker materials. It is extremely difficult to weld sheet metal with flux core wire. Also flux core wire leaves a slag coating on the weld bead that should be chipped off after the weldment cools. Welding with a mig process with a shielding gas leaves a clean weld with no slag.

Hope this information is useful in determining what equipment you may need for your intended purpose. My home shop welder is a Lincoln Weld-Pak 125, using 220 volt power, currently using .030 flux core wire.

Ride my bike (when its not so blankin hot out), Watch tv, watching movies, Driving my Sonic, Working on my Sonic, Surfing the Internet, work to pay for my sonic. just to list some.

When my friend is over we like to play either my Xbox360, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Wii, Nintendo64, Gamecube. Yeah, im a video game freak. I dont always sit and play these, usually only when i have some people over. otherwise they just collect dust.
