GM Accessories examples?

I thought the same thing; I purchased some $20 mats from a well known retailer (Walmart) to get through last winter, in anticipation of the release of the digital fit Weathertech floorliners, that were not yet available. Those cheap Chinese manufactured floormats stunk (obnoxious odor) so bad that I had to remove them.

You mean the wally world mats stunk? I have them whatever the best ones, rubber wuth the carpet. I like them but yeah, I guess there kinda stinky for awhile. Although my car is ogg gasing so its just a chemical parade while i'm driving.

The mats I had were their best all rubber mats; yes, they literally stunk; a petroleum type odor. Carpet mats probably would be less likely to give off an odor, but they also have a rubber backing.

I have the standard carpet mats. They are fine for me, and easy to replace when they wear out although a bit more expensive. And they don't stink.

Stubby, can you tell me more about the wind deflectors? I've never had them on any cars that I've owned, so I'm not sure how effective they are. Is there a noticeable decrease in wind noise with the windows all the way down, or half way?

I've always liked the way the deflectors looked on cars, so I may consider getting these if their functionality is worth the price.

Also, what good is the "molded hood protector" for? The few inches it covers or does it actually work to deflect objects (bugs, rocks, etc) away from the hood? It's hard to tell from the photos how much it's angled.

Road salt applied to ice and snow covered roadways and the sloppy mess that our cars are exposed to necessitate extreme measures to protect our vehicles. The best solution for carpet protection is the WeatherTech brand floorliners. They are even superior to the GM all weather floor mats because they are molded to fit the floor. As an added benefit, they don't give off any offensive odors, and they are made in the USA.

Interesting. I'll have to look into that deflector then. I do a lot of highway driving and my windshield tends to get smeared with bug guts quickly.

About the hood deflector, does it actually stick on the hood or is it a plastic piece that sticks up kind of like the window ones? Basically, I guess I'd like to know what it's made of. My Sonic is black so if it sticks on I think it wouldn't be obtrusive.

Yeah, i guess they do make a real bumper protector for sedan on special request..But i am not sure about this, I would confirm it from my friend who is working with Chevy in production.

Thanks, but does it stick up? The photos on the gm site are pretty useless.

Would it be visible on my black Sonic or would it kind of be flush with the hood?

They are fairly effective. Mainly to keep the wind from blasting in when you crack the wondows, and also to deflect rain, keeping it from soaking your door panel in light rain.
