Had similar issues last year. Ended up being my timing chain. Replaced in July. $3k later. It purrs like a kitten. Replaced similar parts as well. Finally gave up and took it to the dealership. Knew it was gonna cost me. Plan on driving my sonic for many years to come. Sorry for your luck.
Been awhile. Like 6 years. Figured I’d post because of an engine issue i had last summer. Timing chain went out. Very costly. 3k. I have a 2015 RS sedan automatic. Love everything about it. Looks. Comfort. MPG. Has some giddy-up. It just turned 48k miles last month tho.

Just ordered the inner lights and fogs for my RS. Did the light smoke on both. Like the look when the lights are off.
