I'm talking about the ones that are on your shift selector levers on the transmission itself.

I'm not sure exactly what you want me to look for.
The car is getting worse. The grind happened at 2500 rpm with light throttle yesterday. I am having problems going from 3rd gear into 2nd. It won't go into gear. I hold it there for half a second and it just goes nowhere. I have to put it back in neutral and try again. Sometimes it hesitates to go into first. The dealer wants to bleed the clutch line.
Also the hood has been fixed. The sheet metal under the hood stops was all bent. The body shop said someone had a prop there keeping the engine up and it bent. The dealer said they would have done that when working on the transmission. They are going to see if it caused my issue. It doesn't look like my guy did that when doing the new struts.

Alright I'm going to go and get a picture that shows the amount that mine ends up moving off center and then you can compare and see if yours is worse, you'll see what I'm talking about in that picture.
I took the other pictures when the engine was hot as **** and didn't want to get my arms burnt trying to get in there. It said my engine was taking in 65C air or 150F and that was only after 5mins idling in the parking lot.

Not that I know of. I do not have this problem at all wtih my 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt. I didn't have this problem when driving Civics and CRXs either. I test drove a VW Golf TDI and it didn't do this either.
Weird, I've been trying to reproduce this on my own car (just crossed 1k miles) and have yet been able to. It was me just shifting to fast I am sure. thankfully still have a warranty so i'll keep rowing it and see if i can reproduce the issue.
Can you post more info on the shifter bushings ? May make more sense since this problem is RPM dependant. Maybe the shifter bushings from the factory flex to much at higher rpms and quick shifting causing the car to not shift into gear properly. If i recall I had a similar issue on an old prelude of mine (which used cable shifters)

My car did it sometimes when it was brand new, but as it gets more miles it got worse. The worst so far is 2500 rpm not-that-fast shift up a pretty steep hill. The lawyer wanted me to drive it some to see if it got better or worse and it is definitely worse. I put about 1000 miles on it since I got it back from the dealer. Most of that was highway miles, though.

Sorry to hear about this but kinda glad to see others had this problem. Only happened a couple times in the six months I had the car and thought I was spazzing 'cause I hadn't rowed a manual since '93.

It matters to any of you, I had a 12' that would grind like hell on the 1-2 shift, and was rough on 2-3. fought the stealership to take my car back and get me a 13'. my 13 hasn't had any problems. If any of you are grinding and are getting your trans replaced, have them look into any differences between years. They replaced my trans 3 times trying to get it right.

Unfortunately they did not return my car to the alignment it previously had. I am very annoyed. I bought a contract for alignment at NTB but they can't do oit again so soon. They also can't fix my hood so I have to go to a body shop Thursday and have them figure it out. He took a quick look and he thinks someone put a jack under the radiator support but they need to get it in the air to be sure. This happened at the dealer. I know for a fact the hood was perfect when I brought it to them in April. When I saw the car in May it was messed up.
the "lead" tech there was bad about moving the mirrors on the alignment machine so i looked like it was set right instead of actually doing it. Im glad im out of the hole. Sorry to leave you hanging

I have a '13; it's more than happy to grind 1 -> 2.

Same here. I don't think it's the model year of the trans that is the issue.

I also have a 13' and still grinds once in awhile
All I know about them is that it seems about a stiff as a rubber band, and I would like to replace it with something about as stiff as a metal disc. However, I cannot figure out how these can be taken out and replaced with something else. Maybe someone will come out with a stiffer cable kit that we can drop in and call it a day.
OR.... someone finds out the Vauxhall has a different set of cables that may actually be better.
On another note,
I haven't ground since I topped up the transmission with half a bottle of the LUCAS OIL TRANSMISSION FIX. I believe it seems a tiny bit more stiff to shift than before, and that small amount of delay is likely helping the most. Keep in mind I have the RS and the difference in 1-2 is less than the difference for the other models.
I think my next attempt to solve the grind will be to try the Royal Purple MaxGear 75w90
After many comparisons against spec sheets of various different brands of oil, I found it seems like it should be the thickest oil and should help stop the grind. It is available at most parts stores and should be easy enough to find.
