You and me both!!! More displacement, more compression, more turbo... :)

I have somethings in the works to take it to the next step so I can turn the boost up. I'll post soon with pictures and video.

I think I heard you mention 60# injectors at the end. Did you decide to go with the Siemens-Deka? Also, did you decide on coils?

I got some SuperTech valve springs. I took measurements of the ones currently on the car. I’ll have to get their titanium retainers to work with these because the stock ones are slightly too larger. These are 65# springs for a Z18XER / mini. Valves are 5mm, so their matching retainers will work great.

Awesome! I'm definitely studying the 1.4 to see how I could mimic it to work with the 1.8.

I've decided I'm going to do the LS coil conversion, but DIY and I'll have to make a custom bracket.

Id get the bonomi check valve linked in the pcv fix kit V1 and V2 and set it up like the 1.4.
Hose for the stock pcv connectors is 5/8" I believe.
BONOMI 100012LF-1/4"

Put the check valve between the stock valve cover pcv outlet, and the throttle body.
T off that run before the valve and send that to the turbo.
So in boost youll vent to the turbo, under vacuum to the throttle body.

Also note that the crankcase must be under vacuum at idle so a catch can cant be vented to atmosphere.

Thank for the tip! I ended up getting a couple check valves and will be setting up the PCV very similar to what you mentioned and how the stock 1.4 is but rather than routing the positive pressure before the turbo intake, I'm going to vent it to atmosphere to prevent the intake / charge pipe from collecting blow by gases. Don't want to risk that again.

Basic run down. You're right, it's 5/8. So the PCV comes off the back of the intake and goes behind the throttle body. I'm installing a sealed oil catch can between with a check valve to keep boost from going back into the system. I'm also going to tee that and run a line to a catch can that is vented with a check valve that will only open during positive pressure. So it'll be closed under vacuum.

Crower finally get back to me! The stock cam specs are:
Intake - 205º @ .050 and .393" lift.
Exhaust - 196º @ .050 and .353" lift.

Shane said they can grind in... .015" more lift and the following durations which he said should really wake them up.
Intake - 216º @ .050 and .408" lift.
Exhaust - 212º @ .050 and .368" lift.

Only issue is the exhaust camshaft arrived with one of the position sensor exciter broken off and they can't weld the tooth / notch back on because even if it's off by a thousandth, the timing would be off and it could throw a code.

Good news though, I found a new GM replacement exhaust camshaft which I'm having sent directly to them. Once that arrives, sometime next week, it'll be another 2 weeks turnaround time for them to grind the camshafts.

For those of you wondering, the cams on the 1.8 are flat tappet hydraulic camshafts. Kinda old school if you ask me, lol, but this is a platform that has worked for GM / Opel for decades now.

Progress!!!... slowly but surely.
