Tune would only be required for the catless downpipe since you'll be throwing a P0420 code (most common one). You could prob use an O2 extender though which many have said has worked pretty good so they don't have to turn it off.
Tuning would also give you the most for the exhaust though so it's not a bad idea to consider it in the future for the best
Put it this way, your car breathes and it takes in air like we do and once it goes through the engine, it exhales (exhaust). If you provide a good cool air to breath in, your car will give slightly more power and a restrictive exhaust will be like trying to breath out through a straw. If you upgrade, the ecu will be going all wonk because it won't know what to do with so much room to breath out so tuning it would tell your car to breath out and relax so it gives you more power

Sorry to hear that you missed the sale. Unfortunately, I won't be able to extend it for you. If I did that, if have to go back and do the same for the other people that missed the sale too. There are also people who bought parts just before the sale. I'd have to offer them a discount as well to make it fair. I hope you can understand my reasons for adhering to the sale dates.
I have no concern what so ever, but lets say water did splash onto the filter. would it hurt it? No. Would it hurt the engine? No. Unless you submerged the car over the headlights, the engine would never ingest enough water to hurt anything because the intake system isn't a "sealed" system. However, the stock airbox is....and it has a "snorkle" that drops well below headlight level.... The "snorkel"(oh the irony) would be a direct path for water to enter the engine given the sealed air box, and that it it the ONLY path of aspiration for our engines. something to think about...

Thanks for the feedback. Out of curiosity would it be possible to purchase just the intake pipe from your kit? I've grown fond of the muffled growl I get from several 1" holes I drilled into the bottom of the air box but I think a metal pipe would provide a little more sound projection (without the full effect of an open element).I have no concern what so ever, but lets say water did splash onto the filter. would it hurt it?
