FWIW, on a local cobalt with a turbo kit added we are using ID1000's, E85, a return line setup and a walbro pump, car is making right near 500whp at 27psi and has fuel left. Injectors that big are just absurd on this tiny engine, and we don't turn anywhere near the RPMs as the cobalt does, high-rpms cut down the injection window and drive up IDC more than any one other factor at that point.
Agreed with all the above, the factory 42lb injectors are great and I used them to get a ton of power out of my supercharged cobalt way back when. Plenty more than 99.99% of sonics will ever reach. On pump gas though, if you are using E85 you are diminishing capacity by nearly 30% so you get there quicker.
