2012 Vauxhall Astra VXR engine???

Check eBay.uk periodically. I took a quick look and found a LEH cylinder head with turbo. I wonder if it would bolt up to the LUV shortblock.

Also I see the turbo and manifold aren't hard to come by.

You have officially left my knowledge zone. I have no idea what swaps between family 0, 1, and 2 engines.

While at GM, my area was driveline, axles, exhaust, and suspension service parts. Engine stuff was handled by Powertrain in Pontiac, MI or Russelsheim Gemany.

For a second I thought that was a really shiny 1.4 turbo. Then I noticed the turbine is almost double the size and the cold side plumbing looks larger.


Someone should for sure put that on a sonic. 1st one with a 3k rpm spool...... Winning

would this work on the 1.8??? and then just install the piping and everythng for the intercooler for it???

You would probably want to pickup the while wiring harness and ECM, the 1.8 and 1.4 use different ECM's so I would assume the same for the Astra motor going into a 1.8.

If you can make it fit, it will work. Someone needs to grab one and do some measuring to know for sure.

So if i just want to see if the 2.0t intake mani will work i still need the wiring harness???

Oh, I was talking about the engine swap. Just an intake swap should be able to be tuned using the stock ECM.

Anything is doable, it just depends on how much money you have to throw at it. Is it probably above the average guys level? yeah. Would it be awesome? Yeah. I think you'll be better off taking up one of the shops trying to build a 1.8 turbo and spending the extra money that will go into sorting out all the problems on beefing up your stock internals.
