My dad taught me how to drive a manual when I was 5 yrs old and I've driven cars with manuals significantly more miles than I have automatics.

The Sonic's clutch is a little toy, if that's too much effort for you in traffic than I'm concerned. I kinda put this in the same category as electric can openers. Who the hell opens enough cans per day to justify an electric can opener, seriously.

Not saying I don't agree but using your same logic. A electric can opener is convenience. Thus automatics are convenient.

A convenience that is unnecessary. If people are too damn lazy to manually open 1 or 2 cans a day I am really worried about our future.

There is a huge difference between laziness and convenience.

Example. When my boys where younger. I purchased a 4 door for convenience. Sure I could have kept my 2 dr but 4dr was easier. I also went with a automatic because it was one less thing to deal with if I had to reach back to hand them something etc.

Also. In the vw world the dsg out benefits the manual by a significant difference. It shifts faster and has better 0-60 than the manual. If I had gone with the gti it would have been a automatic.

Don't confuse lazy with convenience. Sure you could use a manual can opener but why when an electric one saves a few seconds. It's not lazy it's convenient.

I suppose you'd rather pump your water from a well instead of having it delivered through plumbing....

Just saying. Not arguing. Just pointing out the obvious difference to some people. You enjoy a manual and I do as well. But automatics depending on situation are more convenient.

I own a manual and an auto Sonic. The manual is more fun, but I definitely prefer driving the auto when going to a big city.
