You need to check the piggyback (the connector harness). That's is what the sensor plugs into. I went to a salvage yard and found the piggyback and sensor for $2. I purchased a new sensor just to be safe. I never had to rest my battery because my infotainment is not the Chevy mylink. You need to go into the setting of the radio. Before I put the directions for this I suggest holding the AC button and the recirculating button for a couple seconds and see if this will reset it. If not on to the infotainment. You will need your owners manual. If you do not have one I suggest just resetting the car to factory settings. You must drive the car to calibrate the new sensor! Your car might also need to be taken to the dealership and updated. You have a 2016 get the gm app and get that bad boy connected to the Internet. Mine unfortunately was phased out as a 2014. I'm not sure if this will help with your issue of the sensor but having that app and your car connected you can keep an eye on your diagnostics of the vehicle and possibly start and unlock your car from the GM app. Let me know!
