Advice - Installing UniFoam Filter on DDMworks Intake

I need some instant advice on how the blue hell do you keep the unifoam filter onto the pipe?! Every damn time i put the F'ing thing on there and go to tighten the screw strap on it the damn thing just slithers right off the pipe!!! Thats all i have to do to get it complete!!! This is so unreal. so close to being done... and cant get the filter to stay on the pipe! Yes, im very frustrated at this point seeing how ive been at this for the past 2 hours getting this damn intake installed. told you guys i wasnt the greatest at doing this stuff. Damn that filter strap!!! HELP PLEASE! thanks

Never mind... I just took the damn intake tube off and drilled a couple holes into the filter and tube and screwed the Mother Focker onto the damn tube!! not the most convential way to do it and im sure i will get slack from others but damnit i need to drive this car and i wasnt about to let some damn slithering filter keep me from getting this done! Pics soon...

Did you clean the pipe and intake prior to installing? Any filter lube or oil will cause it to slip off. Alcohol will also clean both surfaces causing a clean contact....

yes i did. i cleaned both the filter inside and the outer where the strap was and then the pipe and for whatever reason the thing kept just popping off like it was on ice. made no sense to me. so thats when i just did what i did. yeah, alot of people will be all over my case for the way i got it on there but oh well. its my system. does the job.

you should have got the k&n filter the rub connector instantly tightened onto the intake. maybe now you can put the strap on it and take out the screws.

Does not matter, the k&n throws off the maf by 16%. Not enough to throw a cel but it makes it run lean. Bad stuff will happen.

It's not a fuel issue it's a actual maf calibration issue.

Wanted the K&N Filter, but as $ub$onic has said, i do not have my Sonic Tuned yet there for im not getting the K&N Filter and messing up my engine. My previous car died on me from modding the hell out of it and not tuning it. not doing that to this car. Learned alot from my previous car. Love my sonic and the UniFoam Filter isnt as bad as one might think. That thing still performs. My sonic gets up and moves with the DDMworks setup. Can only imagine with a Tune and K&N Filter on that Intake what it can do!

got like 300-400 miles with the k&n filter sounds amazing and dont notice any bad exhaust sounds or unusual exhaust smoke. but with that 16 percent i think even if i just fix that i could see a comparatively big gain in mpg and powa...
i wonder how off the maf is for the foam filter

Another highly recommended product is "outerwears" brand prefilter. Keeps the filter Alittle cleaner

If I remember right the foam filter is like 3%. Not enough to ever do any damage
