Advice on new CD DECK

any1 out there replace their head unit and keep the working steering wheel controls/bluetooth/xm radio??
i've seen some on crutchfield for less than 200$.... i remember replacing the deck in my 04 vibe made a huge difference in sound quality...................thanks

Theres nothing available from any of my sources at the moment (davis,metra,scosche) But id say there will be in time.

As far as steering wheel controls go those kits are pretty universal, the Axxess AWSC kit auto-detects your buttons, radio and everything though, Thats the kit id recommend when it becomes compatible

The radio in the Sonic seems to act as a brain for the entire information center, so it's gonna be a waiting game for someone to create replacement units. Probably won't be cheap either...

The stock head unit is a quality piece, it just needs an amp and quality speakers to get more volume out of it cleanly. I've adjusted the EQ on it and I think it sounds pretty good stock, but it just doesn't get loud enough.

Also, the Bluetooth and OnStar require the stock head unit to function and it also controls some BCM settings. Replacing it would be the last thing I'd do.

I wouldn't call myself an audio guru but I'd advise keeping the stock headunit and getting a bada$$ equalizer/sound processor!

i'm not guru either, but you'd think replacing the head unit would easily provide much needed power to the speakers.........they make head units that have the bluetooth and xm built in... so i'm assuming they will soon become available for the sonic..... i could care less about the onstar........ guess time will tell...

Providing power to the speakers is easily done by adding an amplifier, not a headunit
