Airbag Light issue

I got a 2012 Sonic LTZ hatchback 1.4L Manual. Right after I bought the car last year (approx 30K miles on it), I got an airbag light (on the dash). Took it to the dealer, they did the airbag recall and light was out. A few months later light came back on and took it back before the 36K warranty was up they said it was a old code nothing was currently showing active so they couldn't do anything but reset the system. Now its got about 42K and the airbag light is on again, my code reader/scanner doesn't read airbag codes, and I would hate to take it in and spend a couple hundred bucks to have them tell me that it was the same thing as before that they just reset the system. Its a rather annoying light. Can the airbag lights be read by any odbII scanners, or maybe a elm327 module and software? I'd rather spend the money to get something I use vs giving a dealer money to reset it when it will probably just come back on in a few months.

Just in case anyone may ask, I did disconnect the battery overnight and it didn't reset even the trip mileage. It only reset the time/date on the radio.

No ABS codes are picked up by a diagnostic machine...

But the dealer did the work. I'd take it back to them and explain its returned and can they scan it again (FREE)... Bring your paperwork showing the multiple times you've been there. Just be polite, keep your cool and work with the manager, I bet they'll do it no problem..make sure if they do that it's free.

However, other places (Like Meineke in my neighborhood) can scan those codes for less then dealer fees... I believe I had it done for $65'ish... You can call around shops and ask.

But I'd sure take it to the dealer who did the work and let them see if they can make it right.
