airbag removal cel. help

Hey guys. It was mentioned somewhere about removing the rear seats side cushion airbag and utilizing a resistor to stop the cel. does anyone know what resistor would be required and would there be any risk of heat buildup. Thanks

If you have a CEL from pulling an airbag you have other issues.

The SRS light will illuminate if there is an issue in the system. Im not sure what a resistor in the rear seat inflator module would accomplish. I assume you removed the bag in the steering wheel. The light is on due to the system not seeing the bag. Even a resistor in the rear inflator would still result in the system not seeing the steering wheel bag.

The resistor i would assume would be in the plug that was once connected from chassis to bag. My back seats are removed. Need help pulling side bags and making sure the the cel or srs lights dont come one

Preloaders weight loss thread page 6 theres a note about how removing the backseat bags will throw a light srs or whatever. Preloader chimes to add that it wont do that with the proper resistor... yet no one completes that thought. Thats what im doing and solving

What the system reads is the wiring of the igniter module itself. Im sure there is some resistor in there, but it might actually be reading the igniter. I sure as hell have no plans on taking a multi meter to one to measure the resistance.

The CEL is your check engine light.

Unless you feel like playing with fire I would suggest just dealing with an idiot light on the dash. Also keep in mind that tampering with safety related parts of the car can cause you some issues beyond the vehicle itself.

I hope your talking about giving your car a 300lb weight reduction cause that would be pretty dope. All you need is 310whp and 2500lbs with a driver and you have yourself a 11.7-12.2second 1320 at 116mph

That is the opposite of what im talking about. Im going to be adding weight actually in the form of a system. A rather nice one actually. However for gutting basically the front seats back. All the **** ill add wont really add a ton of weight. But im also looking at a different power plant that will make weight almost irrelevant in this car. Its never truly irrelevant but you know what i mean. If you have the power to drag that ass then 100 lbs aint really on your mind.
