A used transmission from a one that was previously on the road doesn't need the TECHM swapped. A junkyard/used transmission should give you the transmission with its TECHM, and its torque converter. And that is what you want.
Personally, I do not recommend swapping parts on the transmission itself if you want to get this done and over with. If you swap parts and you have problems, you have increased complications. You also would have zero idea if you got a faulty transmission or if its something you did. TECHM's can be iffy to swap. Its complicated enough, so for the most part, why make it worse on purpose? I need a longer warning for future people who see this post and think it must be a good idea, so why this is most of my post. If you don't mind that, go for it. If after its all on and it has a problem in reverse or something, the TECHM here can cause that but so can internal issues.
