Any way to do a burnout

The ecm stops the car from spinning the tires even when the traction control is completely off. Anyone know of a way to spin the tires

pull the fuse for the trac and sabilitrac , warning these features are intended to stop us from burnouts , its not my fault if u break lol

Always worked on mine...

Press and HOLD the traction control button until both stabilitrak and traction control lights on the cluster come on. I think about five seconds or so. You should be able to do a burnout after that.

thats how it says in the manual to shut it off , but the light still flashes and cuts power after i shut mine off , i dont think you can completely shut it off without pulling the fuse

Must be a change for later years. Mine would smoke the living hell out of the OEM Hancooks.

I've never had a problem doing a burnout with this... In first, second or third gear. I've never really tried to get rubber in fourth.

Why are you trying to do a burnout in an economy car? Even if you manage to disable the failsafe that keeps you from doing doughnuts, chances are the drivetrain isn't robust enough to handle that kind of abuse.

If you go through with this, you will most likely end up with your car on a flatbed and your head in your hands.

A burn out in a Sonic wouldn't be too spectacular; only one tire would spin, and if you were to do it long and hard enough, the planetary gears in the differential in the transaxle would not survive the abuse.

Oh the wheel hop I get if I accidentally spin the wheels is horrendous! Sounds like a jackhammer. My next goal is to fix this issue.

This little car has some good potential to be a lot more sporty in looks, power and handling but even then, it is not made to do burnouts. So, why would you want to put that kind of stress on this little car and risk braking something?

Trust this man, I did have my front axel replaced because of this. You want burnouts buy a sports car.

Hold the traction control button for like 6-10 seconds. Then pull the parking brake and try to launch the car. I did one like that for a few seconds before I realized I had the brake on. Only one tire spins though. At least it felt like only one was spinning. Let me know how it goes. Also I wouldn't recommend it. I hear FWD isn't as sturdy as good old RWD. Like my Mustang. My Mustang had no problem spinning the tires even when I didn't want it to :|

I don't know how anyone has experienced wheel hop with this car. My Mustang would get horrible wheel hop when I would try to launch it. It literally felt like the rear end went up in the air then landed before moving. It was awful.

I noticed that if you push the traction contol button you get a light on the dash indicating it is off.

But, if you PRESS and HOLD the button for 15 seconds (i think) you get 2 lights on your dash.

Not sure the difference but might be that extra safety disabled you are looking for.

My 4cyl Colorado would spin tires in first and second gear. But this Sonic isn't designed to, sorry bud.
