gm has always done stuff like this though. I had an old buick century that did the same thing (of course it never really needed reved haha) Does anyone know if it cuts fuel, spark, or throttle to do this? Ive been wanting a 2 step setup, its pointless if it doesnt let you build boost though

I was thinking it might be to protect the engine if it's cold/not under load but I'm probably wrong? I know my last car would limit boost when the low fuel light was on and wouldn't allow full boost when it was cold, etc.

I thought that too, because ive noticed that automatic cruzes wont rev up if you have tcs on and try to brakestand it.
