With the name change from the Chevy Aveo to the Sonic, do you think Chevy is bringing enough new to the table? Do you like the name better? Will it be more successful than the Aveo?

I think by the first year the Aveo will be all but a distant memory. Year 2 and the name will be forgotten.
Chevy stepped up the game in the looks and engine department with the Sonic. Both of these things are what were missing in the Aveo and made it what it is today. Sonic has the right formula to become very successful

Interestingly enough, the Aveo keeps its name in other parts of the world but will be the Sonic in North America. Sounds like Chevy is riding on a rebranding to sell the car.
The Sonic should be a big hit, will probably see similar success as the Cruze is in many places. The Aveo just doesn't have that name backing it, I'm sure if you asked who made the Aveo many people would not know.
If GM advertises like they say they will then everyone will know who makes the Sonic. Plus its got some better looks than the Aveo

Hello, I found this forum while looking for info about Chevy cars. I am deciding on buying one, and still don't know yet if it's a good choice. I would be very grateful if you could point me in the right direction or give me advice on this topic. I live in Nashville, TN (as I mentioned in another thread), and I am wondering if you know any dealers here (or in TN area) that I could contact/visit and get information about Chevrolet? I know only about this Roadmaster Auto Sales, but he's based in Knoxville, and I would prefer (if possible) to have someone here, in Nashville. Any helP?

No love for the Aveo As an Aveo owner I really like the car. When I look at the Sonic I do honestly just see an evolved Aveo into a newer generation car. I understand what Chevy is doing by killing the brand, as it never had a leg to run on in the beginning but I really like my Aveo. I hope the Sonic will be that much better.

Jonner. I liked yer post that yer Korean-made Aveo has served you well. Now the "New" GM will manufacture the Aveo as a "Sonic" in Michigan and I am all for that! The news today is that small cars were tested by National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA or "Nit-Sha") and found to be O.K. If the "New" GM will give us a "fun" Sonic with quick acceleration and bun warmers that handles like the VW Golf, then it WILL BE A WINNER!!!

Hey, I am wondering if its better to wait for sonic or just buy aveo or another chevy.. I don't have my favourite, all of them look great. I want to visit Mtn. View Chevrolet, he has a wide choice of Chevrolets, but maybe its better to wait for Sonic?

If you want a cheap turbo car that gets 40mpg then wait for the Sonic. If you want a cheap turbo car that can get tuned and put out 160+ hp without mods like cai, exhaust, etc. then wait for the Sonic. If you want a lighter car than the cruze with the same engine then get the Sonic.
Wait for the Sonic.
