Best coilovers?

There only seems a coupe companies that make coils for the sonic. What ones go the lowest?

After reading the title I was expecting it to be about best performing coilovers which would probably be Pedders with some dialing in on the dampening.


If It's just most low you're after BC is the lowest I've seen but I think someone got B&Gs just as low.

I can't find b&g for sale anywhere ...link? What about
ksport? Or ckracing, or even Megan racing? They are a lil cheaper than BC. Thanks- if BC will go the lowest I'll go with them

I know peddlers are the most expensive and ride the best but yeah I'm looking for lowest.

Hard to say. I just know pedders are gm certified so they retain your warrenty.

B&G only makes lowering springs at the moment for these cars.
You can find them in the M2 Motoring section of the forum.

The lowest I've seen so far are the BC Racing coilovers, but the previous owner had them custom ordered. Not sure if it costed him more than the usual price or not.

And now I have them. They ride great with the dampening I have them set at half way and she rides great. I put in 2 12's in the trunk and I bumped up the dampening 5 notches I still have 10 more adjustments on the back and 15 on the front. I have the bc coilovers with 3" drop Springs. These coil overs also have slots for camber adjustments

In terms of performance, are all coilovers pretty much coilovers? What I mean is are they pretty equal between the different brands?

I am looking at the CXRacing coilovers for about $800 vs the $1500 Pedders. Are the Pedders really worth the extra $700 (besides the whole keeping your warranty intact thing)? First time really considering upgrading my suspension, so I am just trying to figure this all out. Thanks.

Oh ok. I just looked at Pedders USA's website and I didn't see anything about them not being available, so I had just assumed that they were. Well... that makes that decision much easier.

I'm thinking about buying CK Racing ones. 800 free shipping. Import tuner used them on their sonic and review seemed good I just wanna go low in the back as possible

They're all the same between BC and other Taiwanese made coilovers.

I think you can put any type of suspension on your car and not void your warranty. Same with most performance parts. Of course the parts you instal aren't warranted by the dealer. But air intake, exhaust, etc. should be fine. There are laws in place that make it so a dealer would have to prove that the parts you put on your car was the reason a problem occurred to another part.

^^^ Yes and no. They can void the suspension warranty due to the extra stress put on the other components due to the stiffer and lower suspension. You can try to argue if you want but if GM agrees with the dealer you will loose suspension warranty. If you have an intake and exhaust and your engine pops, they would be hard pressed to show it was from those parts alone. Now if it is running out of spec or you have a tune, they have all the evidence they need to make you pay if they want. The more common thing to happen to people with modified cars is that they are shown the exit of the service isle and invited to not return with that vehicle again. The dealer can refuse service for any reason.

i might be a little late but i heard the BC BR coils get you the lowest, but theyre also one of the most expensive, i just put on the cx racing ones which are the cheapest ive found and ive had only one problem, the front adjusted lower than the back, but to solve it i just took out the rings and the mount for the rings and its just the spring it tucks front and back no rubbing and its got a 32 step dampener adjustment, mines on 16 rides pretty comfortable and i love it. just my input though!

Thanks for the replies- yeah my front is tucked and back is tucked too with removing the perches - looks great! Well worth 799.00 incase anyone's thinking about them

Has anyone had any success finding coil overs with spring rates around 8kg front/ 6kg rear? I know that I can change the springs, but if the damper is not set up for those rates im just wasting my time compared to running what I have now.

Mine are 6k and 4k- why do
you need such stiff springs? If it helps I think BC coils you can do custom spring rates
