Blank Radio Screen??

Ok I did a search of this before i started this and hope that with a "0" Return search i dont get a "This has already been stated Elsewhere" quote... If it has been asked already i appologize in advance... here is my question...

My Question is today i got in my sonic and started the car and the Radio Screen was Pitch Black. Blank, Nothing, Zippo, Notta, Nothing. No Time, No Temp, Nothing. wasnt thinking at the time to take a picture of it to show, but i can say its as if the car was off but i had it running. So i reached up and pushed the "ON" Button to see if it would do anything, and to my surprise it came on and started playing the CD i had in it.

But Since then its been working as it should. This is the 1st time its ever done this and i have a feeling it was just a "Once in a Blue Moon" type of thing. maybe just a glitch in the system. I sure hope this doesnt turn into something down the road... Anyone else experience this happen to thier 2012 Sonics? I have the 6 Speaker Sound System.

I kid. Anyway, this happened to me once or twice (before I installed a new headunit)
I have no idea what causes it, it just kinda happened.

Well this has been an ongoing problem with my sonic, i have the Connectivity Plus package in my 2012 Sonic LT2 Sedan and i have been experiencing my Radio at times and becoming more frequent, when i start the car up, i get a Blank Radio Screen. My Radio Unit does NOT turn on at all, making it to which you have no Chimes, Turn Signals ect that the Radio would Control? Mine has done this to me Several Times now, and im really starting to get tired of it. Will be contacting my Dealership soon to make an appointment to get it looked at. It shouldnt be doing this in a practially brand new Car! Only had it since March this year (2012). I just dont get why a brand new car has to have an issue like this. A new radio shouldnt stop working after only being months old. Until i start pressing buttons on my radio i cant get anything to work that runs off the radio Unit. as i said, no chimes nothing. But once i get the screen to come back on everything works as it should.

had this happen today as i left work, started it got out, let it warm up about 15 minutes, came back out and radio was black. turned it on, worked fine, also got my car in march...

Mine has also done this two or three times to me over last couple of months. It always comes back on when I hit power button but was pretty weird the first time. Dealer told me they couldn't find anything wrong with mine so I'm waiting for it to happen again and going straight there.

My radio has the same problem, I turn the car off and back on it will work. also when I hit the brakes radio turns off, same with blinkers. Took it to dealership they ordered a new radio. Right now car is dead, because radio turns itself on in the middle of the night. Keys locked in ignition, trunk locked without power.

I would drop it off at the dealer until the figure out your problem.

My car has done that twice and I only got it February 10, 2013. It has only done it twice though, but if I crank up the car and let it run for 30 seconds to a minute, the radio turns on by itself. Completely blank screen, even the power button won't turn it on. I am keeping an eye on it, but so far once it turns on everything is fine. For the most part the radio does turn on immediately after the engine starts. Has to be a software bug or a bad ground someplace. No way of repeating the problem so I could show the dealer. I am sure if I take it in now, they will tell me there is nothing wrong with the car. My Turbo LT came with the CD 6 speaker radio. Nothing fancy.

Mine did this yesterday. Noticed that the turn signal did not make the clicking sound (not a real click, but an electronic sound), and then noticed the radio display was blank. Got to my destination; when I went back a few hours later and started it, everything was fine. Weird, but all is well now. Hmm.

So it is not weather-related. Mine did it when it was freezing temps outside. It has not done it in a few days now. but it is warm outside. Your car is in Florida, which is warmer. I am in Maryland.

Problem resolved

Took my 12 to the dealer having the same issue the radio had to be replaced (under warranty) dealer said gm technical has only seen 3 of these issues including mine take it to the dealer and have your radio replaced if this is an issue with you by me it started off very rarely and than after a while every time I made a Bluetooth call the radio would go blank don't wait until it gets bad

Mine does the whole random blank screen and no turn signal thing from time to time. It is too rare to have the dealer look at it though. Warranty is about up anyways, so no point taking it in for a hard to duplicate issue now.

Over the past few days my radio has gone blank 3 times while driving.

The first time I hit the radio power button a bunch of times to no avail. Then about 3 minutes later I turned right using my turn signal and it immediately came back on.

The second time I purposefully used my right turn signal to turn in back on, within a few seconds of it going black, and it worked.

The third time it went black but then came back on by itself within a few seconds.

It's been below freezing here for well over a week.
I haven't contacted my dealer yet.

Mine does that sometimes also. One time, my radio wouldn't even turn on. I had to turn off the engine and open the door, then restart the car before it would turn on.

Does anyone else's Chevy My Link logo spash screen show up sporadically? When I start my car, it usually goes straight to the clock, but sometimes will show the Chevy logo before doing so.

I haven't been to the dealership about this yet, but I thought I'd report on this.

It's happened a few times again, possibly correlated with freezing outside temperatures. This morning it happened again. But my turn signal didn't fix it like in the past. This time, it came back on when my traction control became active.

We've been having very cold temperatures and lots of snow. Terrible snowy slippery road conditions.

This evening on my drive home from work, there's a somewhat steep hill to climb coming out of my work parking lot. The hill was icy, my wheels were spinning and I was sliding a bit from side to side. I could let off the gas pedal and sit still, or give any amount of gas from the very tiniest to lots and spin, moving at about an inch per second. As I'm crawling, my traction control was working overtime... on off on off on off on off.
Meanwhile my radio is having a panic attack... on off on off on off on off.

This morning on my drive into work, same packed snow, icy conditions. I definitely correlate the traction control with my radio going out. Again it was on off on off as my wheels spun, trying to get moving from a stop.

I also noticed it wasn't a problem on the second half of my commute, despite my traction control engaging. It's almost as if the problem goes away once the car is all warmed up.
