Blurry Backup Camera

We just bought a new (to us) 2018 Sonic with very low miles. So far, we like it, but one of the things we've noticed is the backup camera looks blurry. You can see what's there, but it looks like I need to manually focus it. My only previous experience with backup cameras was in a borrowed BMW, so I might just have my expectations set too high.

Is this normal, or do I need to get it checked out?

Check to see if the lens is dirty. Wipe it off is it's smudged. If it's clean, ask the dealership about it. Thats why a new car comes with a warranty.

I appreciate the response. I tried cleaning it with a microfiber. I just wasn't sure if the camera/screen in a 2018 Sonic simply isn't very good, or if I have a problem.

My car's backup camera was very clear and crisp. Sounds like you've got an issue.

If there's no schmutz on the camera lens, your picture should be quite clear. Go to the dealership, compare with one on the lot, then ask the service dept to take a look at yours under the factory warranty.
