Speaking of keeping it clean why not edit the op and state that and clean up us figuring that out lol.

Good call. Can someone tell me the names of all the different 5spd and 6spd MANUAL/Auto transmissions so I can edit it in properly?
The way I understand it, the best options short of custom gears would be 1) cryo and 2) shot peening.
Cryo is generally cheaper while the shot peening results in a stronger product.
What is WPC?
I suppose auto's shouldn't be exempt.
I do however believe that beefing up an auto is less involved, and possibly less necessary, as the abuse is heavily buffered by their hydraulic aspect in nature.
ask in PM. this is a clean thread about beefing up transmissions.

i kno. i just want a general answer.
what u mean less invovled?? im not really educated on my transmissions yet..still learning
Honestly, I've never invested much interest in building an automatic because I've only owned one and I swapped it out for a manual. Lol
Generally an auto can see performance gains with better servo's, higher stall converters and tighter springs. But nowadays with TCM, I am clueless. Add to that that I've never souped up a FWD before my Sonic.
My father owned and ran a transmission shop for 20+ years in which he also built up trannies for his personal hot rods. I'll pick his brain ASAP, and share what I find out about building up both modern auto and manual transaxles.
Ok, I poked around on Cruzetalk. I guess I was confused. The MZ0 is just the RPO for the M32 built for Cruzes (with 1.8s?).
Anyway the MZO ratios are:
1st) 3.818
2nd) 2.158
3rd) 1.475
4th) 1.067
5th) 0.875
6th) 0.744
I like those ratios better than what we have.
